SE97 007 BOLT. A large sign indicates that access to the walls is not permitted. This is a pity as the closest official view point is some 10m from the bolt and approximatly 1 m lower. By standing on tiptoes we could not spot the bolt which we believe is just below the beacon basket on the wall.

Scarborough Castle Best estimate places bolt at bottom of steps but logic might dictate it would be on the the high point near the beacon.

Asked English Heritage Staff who were unable to help. Thought the bolt would be on wall. retrospective log once CJO had added to site.
