Suprisingly easy ascent considering its height(1214m). By the time i reached the summit, the mist had rolled in to stay so no more views unfortunately. The trig is in a rather sorry state, wide cracks leading up from its base which sits precariously propped at one side by some rather rotten looking wooden supports. Another top location, the mist making it very atmospheric & only saw one other person in the 45 minutes i spent at the top.

The weather was awful for the first 4 Munros but cleared up to something pretty decent by the time I'd come down from Lawers and approached An Stuc. Visited to record FB number. HISTORY: Pillar completed 30th July 1936 costing £27.5s.10d. Computed as primary station PP315 within Figure 3 of the OSGB36 primary retriangulation network during 1937. Levelled to second class precision in 1952. Last maintained by the OS in June 1980. SITE VISIT: Third highest OSGB triangulation pillar. When visited by GRP in 1997, this station was in a state of disrepair. The ground surrounding the trig pillar was very badly eroded, to the point where the whole thing looked unstable, yet it was stable. The pillar was badly cracked at FB height and chunks were missing from the bottom. Spider no longer retains OS centre boss. Flush bracket faces north.
