(161) A blustery and wet day. Looking out into the Humber, the visibility isn't that great, but both forts are clear enough to be able to log. But definitely need a better camera! This Fort can be walked to, when the tide is out.

OS record this as destroyed 08/89. Viewing conditions were good with various comms masts visible but nothing identifiable as a flagstaff. So will record this as per the OS status. Pleasant walk along the coastal path.

Apparent flagstaff has dark tapered top, has been reused for some other purpose? View beyond to Spurn Head lighthouse. Bull Sand Fort to left further back.

TA30 INT025 FLAGSTAFF. Reported destroyed 08/89. The fort is known as Haile Sand Fort. Through binoculars a small wind turbine, a GPS antenna and what looks to be a flagstaff are visible.

Seen many times from Cleethorpes but on this date my walking group passed along the foreshore footpath, giving a better photo opportunity.
