Round of the 3 Munros from Glen Etive. Just a stump left of trig. Great view down Loch Etive until the clag rolled back in.

Remains of pillar easily spotted near summit. Did the decent thing and moved a rock which someone had placed on top. Easy to see it hjad been a Vanessa. Hopefully the stumpy remains of this trig will remain. Very unlike the shattered remnants of the Mull Ben More trig. This was the first summit of the days 3 (Marilyn) Munros but alas the only one with a trig.

Gridref: NN 12575 42720   FB Number: GONE  Condition: Couldn't find it  Score: 8/10

Ascended and descended via a virtually identical route to peregrinus' previous log. Heavy slog up the main ridge until the snowline which made for some interesting scrambling around near massive cornices on the crags. Despite a very good positional lock on the pillar, couldn't find it under the vast amount of snow on the summit! Nice edge scrambling in the snow on the traverse to the bealach.

0.5m stump of a Vanessa with FB gone (obvious scar), converted to a Block with top surface roughly made good and a small rivet fitted. 5m NE of summit cairn and slightly lower. Dreich morning and no view but a fine climb, from NNE, path via Coiletin, shortcut path S, boulder-hopped across burn then good path up NNE ridge. Descended SE via the 2 Munro Tops (one a Deleted Top) - nice narrow ridge with a little scrambling. Then descended path from bealach, using footbridge at 136460. Fionnlaidh in the afternoon: weather much the same... Note: latest on OS trig archive is maintenance date of 1969 altho they presumably did the conversion. I have seen a note that as of July 1990, pillar was broken off but FB apparently remained.
