Enough for "one" car space only at SD54417 95382. Then through the red gate. Very inquisitive but friendly cows...lots of them! Eventually at the top of the FP you will see a map (see images) of the Access Land. Through the stile and follow the path to the right. You want the hill on the right for the trig. More Cows haha. Views are spectacular 360 deg.

Can see it from Kendal which is great. Caught it through the binoculars from the campsite too, glowing in the sunset haha! Not the easiest to walk to from Kendal really, especially with a dog. Short, terrifying section on the A685 on the way there and further on the way back due to cows. Dog couldn't make it over the wall steps so I did the last bit on my own. Shame, we were hoping for a happier wander! Walked out and back from campsite near Morrisons via Jenkins Crag Farm. Great views.

Nipped up the footpath from the A685 past a barn. Nice white pillar sat on a pleasing perch looking down on Kendal and with interesting 360 degree views

Significant birthday today, a "companion" hadn't forgotten. This entry and pillar is gifted to him. It would have been The Calf, Howgills, but weather stopped play. Pleasant walk from Kendal via Kendal Castle, Fisher Tarn and returned via Cowling Lane

Parked in lay-bye just to west of the railway bridge. Up the path which starts as a reasonable track then deteriorates as it winds its way past crags and quarries. Misty day so no views beyond Kendal. Soggy underfoot.

From a layby to W of railway bridge on the Appleby Rd to N. Pillar sits on one top whilst the high point of the hill sits on another 100m E. Centre cap gone, asphalt replacement; all sight holes open. Extensive panoramic views.

Walked from kendal, took the steep way through the woods and up the fields. Rather than taking the long way round. Nice 10k walk in the end

from the handy lay-by close to the rail bridge on Appleby Road followed the path ( of sorts ) to the access land then up to the trig which sits on the lower of two grazing tops the trig is in good condition with faded white paint all sight holes open and the cap is filled Good viewpoint of Morecambe Bay the Lakes the tops of the Howgills and lots of very green fields returned via the other top

I arrived at Oxenholme train station early afternoon so came up here for something to do. On paper it should have been nice and straightforward though some badly timed low mist meant that the exercise turned into a bit more of an adventure than I'd imagined.

Parked in pull in by bridge over railway on A685,then up PROW to pillar.The pillar is on the hill to the right,one on the left looks higher though.Pillar in good nick, has fading white paint with evidence of some green paint,tarmac plug & all sight holes open,centre mark not visible due to debris.Excellent 360 deg views today.

Walked up from Kendal railway station following the A685 Appleby road. Its quite a trek up here,made worse by the lack of footpath after Morrisons. After crossing a bridge over the WCML,a path signposted Hayfell heads up to the 2 summits. A really nice spot this,but the views were spoiled by low cloud.

Benson Knott is on Hay Fell accessed from the Appleby road (good lay-by just over railway bridge) a gentle climb on a vague footpath takes you up past a plantation from where you should head for the lower of the two summits where the Trig overlooks Kendal, Good views on a better day I picked a very wet and windy one.

Parked on minor road beside WCML, watched the APT go by then walked up to the grassy summit to find the off-white pillar on its exposed base.
