St Thomas' Church, Mellor. Beautiful Grade II listed church, with parts that date back to the 12th century, and which contains the oldest wooden pulpit in England. All good with the flagstaff. There is a CBM on the porch. 2 of 7 today in the Peak District

The Cown Edge Way goes through the churchyard and its lofty location certainly draws in the crowds....very busy today with walkers. In order to reach Cown Edge I visited Hollywood, didnt linger since I had to catch the 4 pm bus home. Gifted to the Ramblers Association guy who devised this very quirky route. It starts from outside his house on an housing estate in Hazel Grove, across the road from the "News and Booze" shop.

excluding lighthouses don't normally log intersections but this one is a bit special - seen from so many other Dark Peak trigs and a beautiful church watchful over the divide of hill and town - nice walk from Strines then a long loop to Marple. I'll log it as good like everyone else - but surely inaccessible??
