Followed the footpath around the N, W and S sides not expecting to gain access but was then lucky to find the reservoir gates open and a United Utilities van on site. The engineer was interested in my request to look for the survey marker and accompanied me to the top. After a short search, the rivet was located on the low concrete parapet on the N side. Extensive views of the surrounding area; slightly humid but the rain didn't arrive until later. Continued along the Peak Forest canal to Marple to see the viaduct.
