Vgc pillar atop Big Morton Hill. Approached the same route as clochandighter from the south. Cloud level was basically at the start point with 40m visibility so no views of anything! FB faces east-ish with the same sighthole open only. Cap missing but asphalt plug in place. Excellent motte and bailey at the start point.

Asphalt cap. This is my 1000th pillar to touch. Roads flooded on approach. Hillside sodden. Fortunately the sunny spells forecast arrived as I approached the summit.

vgc, asphalt plug, grassy summit. Base somewhat undermined, doubtless by cattle, but stable. From S, parked just E of farm, farm track then open hill. A few stone walls, well made but needing care. Final part of climb a bit tussocky.
