A great trip into West Yorks- Salts Mill, Baildon Moor trigs (already bagged) and the house tower intersection above Shipley Glen and then this beauty. Leeds on the horizon, the Sheffield moors, Emley Mast, Saddleworth, Boulsworth, Baildon Moor Bradford, Rombalds Moor, Otley Chevin, a plane suddenly takes off from the green near distance of the airport.

(2198) Made use of the car park on Billing View. Pillar was visible from there. A nice enjoyable walk, though the route I took was pretty overgrown at times. Good views at the location. Pillar in reasonable condition overall - non original centre cap, though. With several colours of paint flaking away, is it time for this one to have a make over? Pillar history: Built on the 21st of December 1946, at a cost of £6 17s 0d. Last maintained by the OS in September of 1986.

Easy walk to the pillar. Trig security on duty ? A heard of cows use the trig as a scratching post, although a bit dirty pillar is good order but the top plate has a plastic centre disc Shame,

A very quick revisit whilst on my lunchtime walk to a very local pillar. There were plenty of visitors today, I almost had to queue. Pillar unchanged from my previous visit back in the summer. The tricky cow field has been ploughed for cropping, so hopefully we won't have cattle to negotiate this year.

Walked up from the Plane Tree Hill pillar, through some nonchalant cattle. Pillar unchanged from my previous visit, with patches of old green paint and a green spider still present. Glorious views from this spot, it really is lovely up here. Pillar #26 for my little trigbagger.

Walked up from Layton Avenue in the pouring rain. All the cattle were in the adjoining fields so access was very straightforward. Pillar has fine, extensive views and is in good condition. The old green paint shows in patches through the now-fading white paint; the spider retains the green however. The concrete is pitted on the various edges. Returned the same way.

how do you spend a drizzly early morning in north west Leeds after dropping off a friend at Leeds Bradford airport? With green wellies and a big yellow brolly, on a walk to a trig and a tump and chatting to fearty cows who gathered and followed me back up the field about ten twelve feet behind me but the moment I turn round to chat to them and offer them the back of my hand to sniff, leap back three feet because I'm such a scary ogre! fading green paint on upper half of pillar

Could have used ROW South from previous pillar, but didn't care to leave bike roadside there. Circled round and approached by ROW from South. Spoke to chap re-surveying boundaries with pole mounted satellite receiver, back pack equipment and hand keyboard, not of or for OS.

Walked over from Plane Tree Hill trig through muddy cow field. Although the map does not show a path going to this prominent trig, there is one so access is easy. Trig painted white and looking good, pity I never saw the green livery, although you can still see signs of it's previous green paint. Views are great all around.

Re-visited this one because we like the view (pity about the distant haze) and for the benefit of Boris the border terrier, who enjoyed the walk. The pillar has changed from green to white since our previous visit. This time we continued into the wood and returned via the sports ground and Billing View. A good round walk for a Good Friday !

Parked in the car park at the Jubilee Hall, Rawdon and took the public footpath almost opposite. Trig comes into view as soon as open country is reached. 670 metres walk from car park to pillar. Slight damage to pillar. Great views all round. Locality is a marked contrast to Plane Tree Hill which is less than 1 km away.

Easy access. I came up the path from St Peters' School across playing field. Then along right of way footpath to south-west corner of field in which the pillar is situated. Through ungated gateway and up to pillar on'locals' path. Trig pillar visible from road. Being Sunday I used school car park - classing myself as a visitor! At sometime in the past has been painted green which is now peeling. Excellent views from this elevated vantage point. Totally different to the nearby Plane Tree Hill pillar.

highly visible green trig. parked next to the football pitch west of the reservoir and walked up. Still alot of the green paint remains with good local views. interestingly as you pass the water trough on the way up watch out for the rivet and benchmark symbol

A breath of fresh air here! A flowering meadow and expansive views south. And it's green with a pink undercoat showing through!

Located between two public footpaths NE of Rawdon. Trig is visible from afar making its position easy to spot. Quite a remote feel for one so close to suburbia. Would have given it a 7 but I liked the the traces of bright green paint. It must have looked stunning a few years ago.

We approached from the north, parking on Bayton Lane opposite the footpath. It's probably easier to approach from Rawdon. Nice area, and trig painted an interesting green colour. Plastic cap.
