From informal parking layby to the North-west. Despite not being on the OS map this was easy to find by following the obvious paths to the high point. Good views across the Dee estuary to the Wirral.

Parked at the roadside just at the small track that leads you to the pillar, Not sure why this isn’t on any map because it’s a great pillar in a good location with top views, replacement centre cap fitted

Parked on Bryn Eithin. Took the public right of way (PRoW) from the road to the north east of the pillar. A footpath then runs from the PRoW up to the pillar. Great views of the River Dee from the pillar. Some minor damage to the top of the pillar

Easy short grass path from road. Pretty good condition looks like looked after with gravel added around base. Great views across the Dee and Mersey (across the Wirral to Liverpool) Moel Famau clear today.

Parked in nearby layby N of trig on the road out of Pentre Halkyn. Easy walk to the pillar on short grass. Lovely open views including Liverpool Cathedral and Hilbre Islands. Asphalt plug, FB in place. Base exposed but pillar nicely sited on hardcore.

Parked in layby to the east of the trig and walked up the grassy slope towards it. Sitting on sandstone rocks and looking much healthier since it has been repaired and straightened up. Stunning views in all directions.

Excellent long range views this afternoon: over Merseyside and to hills of the Northwest, plus snowy Flintshire with the Clwydian Range and also peaks of Snowdonia much further away in the distance.

The trig is in good condition but leaning over to quite a degree due to its base having been eroded. It doesn't appear on Explorer 265but is still there on this very nice stretch of open common land. Excellent views, tarmac plug.

Pillar intact but leaning. The OS map says it isn't there, perhaps because it's nearly fallen. Definitely No S with the number on the FB, in keeping with other trigs in this sequence and in the same area. Public

According to the Trigonomy group database this one is missing, but I can confirm that it is still there (and visible from the roads in the area)The ground around the base of the pillar has been eroded and it is leaning, plug is missing replaced with concrete. Pillar was pulled by towrope with a car (Teenagers!)
