(197) A hard one to get near to. Thought I'd try the PROW across the Golf Course first, but no joy with that, so then went for the route that Brisey took, and managed to bag it that way.

Derelict brick tower. Not even I would climb this to see what the roof is like (if any of it still remains). Observed from road.

Station TF05/036 was a bolt computed to 2nd order in 1950 but reported destroyed in May 1953. Presumably the bolt was located on the roof or on an open parapet, but as the tower still stands but is in poor condition, the bolt's location may have been lost by falling away or deliberate removal. The tower is on private property but can be seen from the 4th tee of Woodhall Spa Golf Club. I reached the tee by a lane leading off the B1191 to a golf practice area then heading SW through the undergrowth. The tower is the stair turret of what is believed to have been a 15th century hunting lodge.
