Flagstaff, lovely church in very small village. Done as part of a 12 mile circular.

A pretty church in a lovely little Peak District Village. Visited after a walk and explore on Harthill Moor. The flagstaff looked broken/bent but the church was lovely

Im not convinced this is the original flagstaff. Photos in an album inside the church clearly show extensive work was done on the trower in 2006/7 with scaffolding completely covering the tower. So likely destroyed although I will go with moved for now as the flagstaff clearly isnt in its orignal location - its very low on the towerroof, the flag would barely clear the parapet!

All Saints Church, Elton. The current church was built in 1812, after the spire collapsed on its predecessor, rending the rest of the building as unstable. The flagstaff is no longer central, and either it, or a new one, is now off centre. There is a pivot benchmark with a datum line below it on the SW corner of the tower. 8 of 9 today in the Derbyshire Dales in and around Ashbourne, Bakewell, and Matlock

A hat trick today and none of them out of the ordinary. Am I getting spoilt after the Rhinogs earlier this week? Elton is a typical Peak District village in what was a lead mining area. Another exciting week of dot watching and the 3 today are for the two new record holders. Superb efforts.

Flagstaff doesn't project above pinnacle, an antenna perhaps? Pivot BM on tower with datum line added beneath, unusual!

Not far from the Elton Common pillar. OS DB shows flagstaff and Centre on same co-ords, with flagstaff destroyed. There is a new flagstaff by the look of it
