Near the newly declared Durdham Down P30 summit, which must have raised property value substantially!

51 Upper Belgrave Rd; no indication on the house that it's named Cheyne Ho. Large 4-storey flat-roof house. Presumably bolt is on the roof. No access sought.

Passed many times without realising the building had any trig significance but having realised I made sure it was on today's walk-about.

The site of the trig is on the roof of 51 Upper Belgrave Road on the northern edge of Clifton in the north west of Bristol. The building was reached from Ladies Mile by crossing Durdham Down. The open grass of Durdham Down lies immediately to the north west of the site. From this stretch of The Downs you can see Leigh Woods on the other side of the Avon Gorge to the west. Between the buildings that line the adjacent Wesley Place a glimpse of some low hills at the southern limit of the Cotswolds can be seen in the distance beyond the city to the south east. The stone gate posts of the house are inscribed “Cheyne House.” Nearby the busy Whiteladies Road is lined with shops and restaurants, the narrow back streets also have a number of pubs and small specialist shops.
