Permission to visit willingly give at the Equestrian Centre - at end of very long tree lined drive. Up grassy hillside from the SE ducking under several electric tape fences. Today the hill top had deep wet grass grazed by friendly horses. A nice spot with good views.

parked on verge opposite drive up to equestrian centre, walked up the tree line drive and jumped the fence into the field on the right thro the first biggish gap in the trees, headed on up the hill on a NW diagonal to an electric?? fence, by which time you should see the pillar, under fence and up to pillar ... no-one around to ask permission and no horses or paint ballers spotted either ... nice views from the top.

A still dry day inbetween the rainy ones. Access freely given, the man working there likes to be asked, I had a long chat with him, the horses use the pillar as a scratching post.

From Deansford Lane, along track towards the stables, but didn't meet anyone to ask permission. The horses didn't like my presence so retreated to woods, up steep bank through brambles then better progress around edge of wood to mast. Horse-less field from there. Trig at summit - good views to SE. Plug intact. Suspicious noises from the paintball zone to N but found an easier retreat.

The friendly owner was busy selling Christmas Trees and gave me permission to go up through the wood to the masts and then through the fence to the trig. He was interested in how long it had been there as he has lived there 50 years and always remembers it being there. Going though the woods was a little nerve racking as there was paintballing going on - I managed to get away without being splattered.

We took the same route as Rhayader Wanderer, and instead of following the bridleway you take the track down to the farm for about a hundred yards when there is a gate which gives access into the field with the trig. It's a pull up to the top but quite good views when you get there. Plug with heavily indented lettering.

This pillar has been bugging me for ages and today I managed to track down the landowner and get permission to access it. It's in the middle of one of those wonderful hayfields where the grasshoppers scatter everytime you put your foot down and the butterflies are everywhere. Also some horses grazing and there was a small horse show going on in the adjacent field! It's all intact with the original plug with indented letters. The SW viewhole is open, the rest closed There is some white paint on the NE face. On top of a pronounced knoll with lovely views SW to Malvern and N to the Clent Hills. Bissell Wood itself obscures the W/NW views. Nice spot!
