Damp and misty. Recommend visiting on a dry day, tall, wet tussocks, everything below jacket level sodden. Went via Arqivas entrance, arrival there coincided with van arriving from New Forest. Driver advised reception that a "member of the public" was on site, (pointed out the security cameras directed at me!) told them he would escort me through the site. He did, and even opened the gate for me, giving access to the hill.

Good condition pillar with two massive antennae about 200m away! FB faces north-ish (I think), all sightholes are open but internally blocked. An OS plaque is present as is an original cap with sunken lettering. Good views across central Scotland and back to Glasgow. Tussocky and rushy slog over from the nearest point on the road. Might be 200m but soaked through by the time I got to the trig!

BSM style, cap intact with all sights open and another 1999 OS plaque on the FlushBracket North face. Cracking view over the Central Belt, but my West-view was full of the approaching rain.. I took the direct, boggy, marshy, reedy field approach from the road corner then made my way back towards and thro' Arqivas site... it was as bad going back but I think approaching and remembering a better route thro Arqiva would save my serious, direct, reedy bog exercise ;-)

Later in 1946 this marker was computed for triangulation as secondary station NS77/7 in the Glasgow block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1963. This trig pint was last maintained by the OS on 17th November 1999. Beside the BLACK HILL television transmitting station. Very high mast.
