Old metal gatepost with its concrete foundation block lies partially in water a short distance from its replacement. Rivet still clearly visible.... for the time being.

Wasn't going to do this again but got chatting to a bloke sat down with a corgi dog who knew about the old bolts location.So i showed him the new loction as well as i was returning to my car i could see him rooting about on the floor nearby, i knew it he was a geocasher i shouted out and he laughed he was waiting for me to move on before he bagged it!

Geocaching in the area and didn't realise this bolt, that's been visited by the YOSM (GC45CC) was so close - in fact I wasn't even looking for this until I noticed it as a waypoint on my GPS (I'd created it some time ago) so imagine my surprise! Quickly located with the help of previous logs and photo's but I gather it's been moved from its original location.

Having hearing about this rivit by all the others, small team set off to find it. Didnt know what i was looking for but could help moving the block. While i was holding it all others were looking, but i soon found it myself as you do.

The rivet had indeed sunk below the level of the water but with 4 or 5 strong bodies we lifted it up out of the ditch so it became visible.

A real effort to find a rivet that has been moved from where it should be, and is encased in a concrete block which has sunk in mud. With teamwork and muscle work we did it!

Found with a group of geocachers, the base needed lifting out of the water to see the rivet. Might not last too long.

Found the relocated block plus rivet after a little bit of searching with peregrinus. If this winter carries on just as wet as it has been there is a good chance that this rivet will sink below the level of the mud before too long.

I didn't find this one until returning to the car and spotted the old red girder support with its concrete base, its been dumped on the left hand side of track which runs towards boulsworth GR 91481 33775 also gps gave same spot height as OS at 389m.

Following on from the last post we had a good search round for the missing metal post and rivet. We found it! See photos - Fairly easy to pin point. Didn't get GPS reference though.

First visited in Feb 2011 revisited en route to Boulsworth and metal post with rivet at base has gone.Some dozy contractors have put a new barrier up and removed the post and rivet.Picture is from first visit

Done again on way up to boulsworth bright sunny day cool breeze though,plenty of walkers around today. Rivet is located just beyond the concrete footing of the righthand post, the rivet is very small and can be easily missed,fine views.

Rather stupidly I wasn't armed with previous pictures so not much chance at all. I enjoyed the drive across the moors and the views. Will bring spade next time!

I hate these!!! I spent an age looking yesterday and gave up. I came back today after checking the OS details and found it. Give me a white pillar any day. Great views from up here but windy and cold. Also logged as a YOSM.

Originally passed on the way to Lad Law (Boulsworth) on 30/05/2005, revisited today en-route to Extwistle Moor. Don't usually bother with these - they're hardly inspiring - and wouldn't have today except just happened to be passing.

Found fairly easily with help of photo and sketch from OS Passive Station website. Parked here and ran to Boulsworth then Extwistle Moor.

Returned with spade ,trowel and more knowledge and finally found it on the concrete base of a metal gatepost.We have left it uncovered so should be more easily found in the future.

Searched with the 10 figure grid ref for about half an hour with no luck.A large amount of earth and varied has been dumped on the sight and we decided that it was buried under some very well compacted earth.The other half of the team is determined to go back with a pick and shovel!!
