A flagless flagstaff today. Within St Nicholas's Church I discovered that the huge visitor's book was first signed on Trinity Sunday 1939, which made some of the wartime entries seem rather poignant. Also the composer John Tavener lived in Childe Okeford until his death last November: a perfect reason to play his 'The Protecting Veil' later during the homeward drive.

Lovely old church in very good condition and the tower still retains a flagstaff. [ADMIN - the initial creating of this TP was whilst my computer was logged in as Carole Engel.
