For a seemingly straightforward trig, far more adventurous than it ought to have been! Left paper map in car in view of imminent rain; GPS batteries ran out within 100m so relying on vague memory of map; footpath has been relocated with no signage that we could see; had to pass through an absolute mud bath; when eventually located, field had a beautiful and fortunately docile herd of white cattle who came to investigate us. Pillar itself behind stock fence but FB facing outwards. Metal cap, shallow letters, vgc.

Had to leave bike at road side and walk down footpath with about 5 styles. How can I cycle fine but walking causes me problems? Loads of cows in the field but they all ran off away from me when I entered it. Trig is behind wire fencing. Sounds of cows, errr.. enjoying each other from the other side of the fence.

In the field today was one solitary and rather snooty-looking bull. I could tell it was a bull by the size of its bullocks. It stood in the middle of the field, which is in fact right in the line of the footpath, and faced me at all times, by swivelling as I skirted the field, like a steam locomotive on a turntable. Lucky I wasn't wearing my red shorts...I took a quick photo by the trig and beat a hasty retreat. Plug intact and pillar in good condition.
