Unremarkable but still pleasant pillar to get the tally ticking on once again for the new year. First that I've visited specifically without being on a hill in a good long while. Can stretch over the wire from the footpath to see the FB without needing to climb into the hedge.

Missed this one when we did the FBM on our way to Wales. Parked just past church and took FP next to posh house. At 2nd style turned left and trig is in the hedge.

Parked by St Michael's Church for walk on public path then short trespass required along field boundary. Trig on E side of boundary, but access easier from W side. Cut back nettles and pruned thorn branches over hanging pillar. Pillar has original cap, indented lettering; front sight hole only open. Good views W and partially S; all other directions obscured by hedgerows.

Bumped into landowner and she gave me permission to photo. Actually she took me into her field and showed me where it was. In hedgerow so could not get too close to flush bracket. Went round into other field to look at the back of the pillar. many thanks to landowner for allowing me access. /

Having experienced pillars in hedges in Cornwall I was sceptical about this one. Follow the path to the S of the Church, parallel to the hedge and fence alongside the horses' field. Turn R through slight gap in hedge and follow the hedge on W side of horse field. 50m and the white pillar appears. Flush bracket on horses' side

Did a circular walk through town & up to the church & trig,then back along the Wye Valley Walk. Nice pillar & good views south & west but it's always a shame,i think,to see a trig stuck in a hedge. Quite a smelly area!

Original plug with slightly-indented letters. Traces of mpaint. N and E sightholes open, others closed. In a field boundary between a paddock containing some very inquisite horses and a newly-ploughed field. Lovely views all-round. Easy access, just off public footpath.

The hedge was very overgrown so we didn't bother getting stung just to take a picture of the flush bracket. Easy footpath access into field.

Used Etrex Legend (s/w 3.7 & 6m reported accuracy) to record in (WGS84) then converted using OSTN02. Input N51.934780 W2.584260 87m. Output SO5992826413 37m. Excellent views looking east. With my little telescope I could see a large peak over 30km away bearing roughly 280 degrees. I guess it was either Hay Bluff or Black Hill. I could see distant trigs at approx 255 degrees (TP3341 S6429) and 265 degrees (TP3331 S6429).

Parked near the postbox in the village on this pleasant spring day and then walked up the footpath and cut through the churchyard and then left again into the fields. The trig sits in the hedge just off to the left of the footpath. A pleasant walk back through the village will take you to the nearby FBM.
