Parked at NT4614012030 where there is a small area of unused ground / farm tip. Followed a track back along to the field system. The track i followed is not on the OS, it runs along the bottom of the field to gate at NT4650212363 Gates are in good places and are easy to find your way to the trig.

Third visit. Approached from southeast. Parked on overgrown former entrance to woods at NT470125, room for one car. Beeline route up through first woods to westmost corner. Keeping northeast of fence line, continued past second woods without entering. Approximately 100m beyond end of second woods here is a gateway through to trig field. Summit is on open grazing land. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces northwest, compass measurement 306. Vented through back (SE) sight hole. 315 panoramic view from top, portion from east to southeast lost to nearby woods.

Parked at entrance to woodland, went straight up through wood. Handy wooden section at end of barbed wire fence for easy access. Then up through other woodland to keep away from cattle.

Parked at the entrance to the woodland and headed east through the woodland and up the rather steep field, fortunately with no cattle resident. Found a gap in the dyke which required a quick "dive and duck" to reach the field containing the trig. Trig in decent condition, other than a tiny bit of graffiti on the top. Plenty of interest on the hill, which appears to have been a hill fort (complete with standing stone and wee stone circle) and gorgeous views down the valleys. Returned the same way as we arrived as there were cattle in the field immediately below the trig.
