Parked below Whale cottage followed quad track up pass the cottage to about the 240 contour line, crossed the stream and headed for the Pillar. Fantastic views all round lovely spot. with big J. Went on to do the Marilyn Meall Dheiridh, very windy day

Parked across from School and followed path up past whale cottage, then hit heavy snow and very nearly turned back. (maybe should have) 3ft of snow in many parts even deeper... but somehow managed the slog. gale winds so didnt stay long to enjoy view by trig.

Up from Whale Cottage (derelict). Nice sploges of orange lichen on the pillar, which retains its original top cap, deeply indented lettering. Constructed with no FB. Fine views. On to Meall Dheirgidh and Meall nan Eun before returning to car. With Carole Engel.

Good nick, metalwork intact (there was never a flush bracket here). Bog standard, boggy hill but I enjoyed a couple of nights staying at its foot. May is wonderful.

vgc, built without FB, metal cap, deep letters. Heathery hill. Summit is 200m to WSW and 2m higher, with fine view including distinctive Assynt hills. Climbed with fasgadh: obvious route from SSE past ruined Whale Cottage.
