In passing, stopped off to see the destroyed pillar site... as you do! A residential block of flats managed by the Hanover Housing Association has been built where the trig once stood.

Called in for a photo. Bit of a furtive one as a couple of folk where sunning themselves in deck chairs near where the pillar would have been. For the record, OS trig archive says Dest 11/85

Ex Trig location would have been near the corner, L of the tree trunk

What am i doing driving round housing estates at this time of night? Located in the gardens of Hanover Gardens Housing Association flats.

Hanover Gardens: apartments: birdbath marks the highest point. Drove in for the location tick. Breakspear House is at the back.

Should be where the bird bath is in the grounds of a newish building.

This is an ex-trig. The coordinates took me to an ornamental garden in the entranceway to "Hanover Gardens", a reasonably new accommodation block, possibly for the college.
