SITE VISIT: Overall approach from east. Parked in makeshift layby at SJ515015. Walked clockwise around the trig field boundary until reaching the nearest point to pillar, then inwards at a very careful pace, for approximately 12 metres ensuring step by step not to stand on any stems or leaves of the growing crops. Column in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre cap with shallow engraved letters. Flush bracket faces WNW, compass measurement 303. Vented through SE sight hole. Open skyline in most directions.
