The trig was easily reached by a short stroll up from the car park through areas of open grass, bluebells and young bracken. There is a view eastwards from the trig over rolling farmland and woods to the Malvern Hills. The nearby topography has a clearer view north to Abberley Hills. This was a very nostalgic visit! I spent many happy hours as a kid with my Mum and Dad and grandparents on Bringsty Common often culminating in a picnic outside "The Live and Let Live" inn. This was one of the rare pubs that had no vehicular access and I well remember the brewer's dray having to stop on the A44 and the draymen rolling the beer barrels down the hill to the pub. Sadly, the pub is no more - and yet the framework of its sign still hangs on the side of the A44 right by the carpark where you park to get the pillar. The pillar is in good shape apart from a missing plug and has obviously been recently repainted white. Has it been adopted? It's in a ring of huge horse chestnut trees where I gathered conkers in my youth! There are excellent views all around and there is a relatively new toposcope about 100 yards from the trig. Glad to have been back!
