Walked all the way round several times and can only conclude that it is in the grounds of one of the office complexes and covered by undergrowth ..

No sign of any development on this parcel of waste ground sandwiched between 2 light engineering premises. Parking opposite trig on Seaview Rd; low wire fence to step over and some building debris to negotiate to find an overgrown pillar at far corner of the plot. Cleared ivy and bramble to reveal some minor chipping to top edges; cap missing, asphat plug; 3 sight holes opn, rear closed. No views.

Broadfields farm It really is still in there, together with a happy cat sleeping in the sun. On boundary with DMR Engineering. This may survive the redevelopment in progress.

Not in DMR Engineering complex as suggested below. In unit next to it - Seaflex on Sea View road. Very close to DMR boundary fence. Security fencing on my visit obviously moved apart to allow a crouch thru' but sure access could be via entrance to Seaflex. Trig ivy clad but thankfully not in dense bushes/trees to rear of plot.

Had hoped to bag this one whilst on a geocaching trip with Omally and Hi-Tek but it is now behind an 8ft high chain-link fence. Probably climbable, but not by someone as old and decrepit as me. The top of the pillar was just visible behind a screen of foliage.

Parked in Broadfields Avenue and took footpath at end of road. Dismayed to find that trig was visible but now behind high security fence. Decided on another approach, circled round and approached via Seaview Road which is a new development. The location in which pillar now lies is a new factory site, gates open, lots of plant and vehicles around but no sign of any human presence. I presented myself at the site office where sat half a dozen construction workers enjoying an extended break. I declared my intentions and admitted to having no safety gear but was granted admittance to the site. Technically this pillar should really be classed as - VISIBLE BUT UNREACHABLE and I fear for its future. It is in the corner of the plot however and may not present an obstruction to the new factory.

Checking out the coordinates.
