Easy find now: open and not underwater. Just needed some moss removing. Being a sunny Easter Saturday, we were expecting the summit to be heaving with walkers, but had it all to ourselves and only met a few groups of people on the way up and down. Our 22nd concrete ring... this is getting to be an obsession.

Fine effort by two keen triggers: may be an easy find now, but how many folk would have carried a spade up Nine Standards Rigg?! Last of six different species of trigs today, introducing non-trig friend to the world of trig-spotting. So he got to see an active station, a rivet, an FBM, a (very special) pillar; a curry stool and a concrete ring.

Waterlogged with faint lettering on the circumference but otherwise in good condition. Well done to the finders. Good views between the showers. Path boggy in places but overall not too bad considering the numbers following in AW's footsteps.

Suspected this might be a concrete ring given other buried blocks in the area have this construction, and so it proved.

With Roger Templeman. A wet and windy day. Spent 5 mins prodding the ground and digging up flat rocks before Roger drew my attention to a depression. A minute or so's digging revealed the edge of a concrete ring. 20 mins later it was fully exposed. Paced it out at 9m NNE from the toposcope. Left it uncovered and high-tailed it over to Nine Standards Rigg before dropping down out of the wind. ***Revisited 5 Mar 2019 whilst passing through.
