Second visit to this one which I first visited in Jun 06. Came at it from the opposite direction this time via Loch of Brouster. Fine walk but a bit of a struggle through the heather.

Parked in layby and walked up to summit. Quite a lot of rocks around. Wonder if there was a Broch of some description here? Great views on a clear sunny day.

Walked up from road junction just below, through heather/grassland and over two fences. The pillar seems to be on top of the chambered cairn and tricky to get to over the wet rocks! FB faces N; E sighthole open, others plugged; nice top with raised letters. Good views again. Just managed to catch it right between two heavy showers.

I started out from Walls village and, having just visited Scord of Brouster, I came up to this interesting hilltop with its chambered cairn. It was quite a bleak day and this helped set the scene very nicely. I then descended to the east, back onto the road where I walked round, in no big hurry, to my next trig pillar, Scollan.
