Parked on Marshes Hill Common carpark and walked up Back lane taking the FP by the pylon, headed over a gap in the wall and a vague path through the lumpy grass before spotting the trig. Actually really enjoyed this one, with good views but very windy today

Parked roadside on Church Road by the Old Vicarage...With the mast in sight, walked up Church Road passing the village hall on the corner & school up the hill to ascend a short set of steps leading onto a track taking you up to the mast. From the mast a short walk S taking you over a low wall will lead to the trig. The route is initially extremely rough consequence of vegetation, despite the trousers, my legs were well & truely scratched. I did wonder on coming down whether having ascended the steps crossing the wall at that point to make a diagonal assault might be a better approach.The walk from the Old Vicarage to the steps could be driven, there being a wider section of road post the steps for possible parking. Despite the roughness endured, I did enjoy the challenge of locating this trig!

Parked on Broad Lane, just off its junction with Hough Hill. Took the public right of way from Hough Hill up to the pillar. Please note that the route from the public right of way to the pillar at the end involves crossing somebodies back garden! There was nobody about, but the route from the back garden to a wooded hill over which the pillar is situated has been cleared of foliage to create an unobstructed path up to the pillar

Can imagine this pillar has very far reaching views westward, but it was quite grey and overcast for today's visit.

Slight detour for this as 'The Common' had been destroyed. Initially drove up the road but it's a dead end and hellish to turn, we then parked at N53° 05.255' W2° 08.429' and walked back up road to the last house, found the overgrow footpath and headed up to the trigpoint. Good views.

A relatively easy bag. Up a narrow track from either direction. The way is protected by some pretty vicious brambles even in October. Good views to the west and Mow Cop. Clwydian Range just in view. Elsewhere was marred by increasing low cloud. There are four more close by, ready for another day.

Walked over from Knypersly Reservoir and High Bent in very wet conditions – I’d planned a route using footpaths but the storm forced me onto the tarmac. Pleasantly surprised by Brown Edge – a brief ray of sunshine welcomed me – but this was short-lived and I walked back to the car in the rain looking like a drowned rat. Needless to say the roads were dry on the way back and the sun was out by the time I got home.

Done whilst on a ranger led walk from Greenway Country Park. The route just happened to pass along the ROW with the pillar a few yards off to the left.The Ranger said he had walked this path many times but had never seen the pillar until I pointed it out. Even today, he had already walked past it. Good views on a very warm and hazy day.

Plug inact, all sighting holes open. W side of ridge with good views towards Mow Cop. Rain paused. Eventually decided that the graffiti on the pillar read "Keep Out" - too late 8-)

Approached from the east via a narrow and easily-missed path behind a group of houses. Trig is just off the path on a pronounced ridge. Original plug with slightly-indented letters. No paint. All sightholes open [3 at soil level]. Magnificent W views and also to the E through the trees. N/S views obscured but a lovely peaceful spot with the heather now in full bloom.
