Walking the Kinder South loop from Upper Booth. Great scramble up Crowden Clough and walk round on overcast but occasionally sunny day. Left the family at the head of Jacobs Ladder before our descent for a 1.5mile round trip to bag this trig. Standing proud out of the peat bog. Good views all around but otherwise fairly featureless summit.

2nd Visit of today's walk, in a lovely setting along an excellent footpath. I approached from South Head. I was accompanied by 5 sheep who didn't seem to mind me stopping to bag this trig. On to the Edge next.

Visited during a seven mile hike from Barber Booth. Great views on the way up and back down but they are limited from the trig as it sits on a large plateau. It is generally in good condition but the spider centre has been replaced with a plain disc.

Parked near Ivy House Farm at Barber Booth on a 5.2 mile walk around Kinder Scout. First off, a visit to the Brown Knoll trig pillar. From Barber Booth, took the public right of way (PRoW) up to Swine's Back, via Jacob's Ladder. Then took the path south down to the Brown Knoll pillar. Heavy snow today in the Edale / High Peak area. No mobile phone signal, so had to rely upon my Garmin Etrex 30x to navigate. Dedicated to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away yesterday. RIP

In the "olden days" this trig was totally neglected and sat in a quagmire of peat bogs. I dont like paved paths but Rushup Edge to Edale Cross saved this trig. It is proudly painted white and a patio surrounds it. I gift this to the folk sporting amazing "bonnets" in these times. Throwback styles of 40 odd years ago.

From dirt layby/carpark (SK 1075 8473), picked up a RoW at SK 1115 8471 and followed it all the way. Pillar sits on an exposed concrete base in moorland with a patio of flagstones laid around it. The centre cap has been replaced with a composite cap; all sight holes sealed. Extensive views.

Easy to find Trig on the Rushup Edge foot path, Trig in good condition with good views off in all directions replacement centre cap fitted. 2 more points of interest to take in while doing this stretch of foot path are a stone Igloo and the Cowburn under ground railway tunnel airshaft

Visited whilst completing man tor , brown knoll and back into Edale via Jacobs ladder. Enjoyable day the slabbed path made walking to brown knoll allot easier then the peat/bog hopping of previous walks in the area !

From Edale via Mam Nick; Rushup Edge and then the relatively new slabbed path across what is currently an extremely soggy Brown Knoll to the trig. Good views but the immediate surroundings are a peaty desolated moor. Without the slabs this would have probably have been a horredous flounder through peat, so much as I dislike slabbed paths, they have their uses especially when you need to meet someone at a set time. Also will reduce disturbance of birds (lots of larks and a female golden plover seen). Return to Edale via Jacobs Ladder and the Pennine Way. Edale Country Day and Fell Race today so place was bustling.

Revisit up from barber booth via jacobs ladder moor has been tamed by slabs since my last visit.Trig in vgc mist just starting to lift met a few walkers on this one who came up from rushup edge on the slabs which now lead from there.

Visited with a group of teenagers as part of a DofE training weekend. New slab surround by (I guess) National Park to cover the bog and try to preserve it. Also a new path goes to and from it along the ridge.

Great new path is being laid to the summit of Brown Knoll. Work started in August and should be complete by December. Great views from this pillar. Up Rushup Edge onto Brown Knoll and then down Jacobs Ladder. Great weather made it a great walk and day.

Nice walk up from Hayfield via Mt Famine & South-Head. Warm sunny day with good visibility. Having walked past this trig on many occasions I never stopped to do the official trig log thing. Foundation a little exposed and plug replaced with plastic cap. Continued on to walk up to Kinder Low and across Western edge to descend off via Sandy Heys. Nice afternoon walk.

Onwards from Kinder Low - thank God for the flagged paths, at least as far as they go - a very wet walk back S to Barber Booth CP. Helicopter going backwards and forwards from Edale for the entire duration of our walk, delivering heather brash and grass seed, as we subsequently learned from a NP ranger we met. Trig is sitting at least 3m into a sea of mud, but luckily partially frozen today so crossable, carefully! Plastic cap, but otherwise vgc.

Walking with my mate, Tracker Dog, to bag the first of three trigs on the W side of Kinder, last week it was the E side. Weather was great and the walk was surprisingly dry, the driest I've ever seen for the plateau. Walked up Chapel Gate then N to the trig, good views to the W. Trig seems perched on a bed of damp peat. Much helicopter activity sprinkling moss (?) seed, lime and fertilizer on the plateau. On to number two, Kinder Low.

The last of a four trigpoint walk from Edale. Walked from Edale Moor, The Edge and Kinder Low. Returned to Edale via Rushup Edge – a 16 mile circuit. The day started cool and windy with limited views – warmed up later with better views but still windy. Thanks to Geoff, Bob, and Lee for a great day out.

Plastic plug. Unusually, no open sighting holes. Public. Access Land. Peak District National Park. Not too far to walk from top of Jacob's Ladder. Peat a bit hard going, even in dry weather. But the vast surrounding upland is a truly amazing place, giving a tremendous feeling of space & freedom.

Well this is certainly the way to visit Kinder - by steering well clear. Fabulous views of Kinder Low once South Head has been skillfully avoided, (why, oh why), on the treck up from Malcoff, made even more pleasant by the hoards visibly pounding along that distant edge. (Just when do the school holidays end?) The bad news? Peat bogs are back on the agenda. Squelch!

Visited whilst walking the Edale Skyline with my walking group - The Irregulars, LDWA. This pillar is normally in a sea of deep peat mud but easily reachable today. Situated on a peat plateau so compared to other places in the area views are somewhat restricted. Everything in good order. Plastic plug.

Im not actully logging this one myself (Barry Actully!), just adding a note that this trigpoint may have been repaired at somepoint.
