Parked in little picnic area SD349916, just south of Low Dale. Walked along road to Middle Dale, then up the footpath. Actually there might be space for one car to park about 100m south of Middle Dale, pulling into woodland from a passing place. Up the footpath as far as the T-junction on the edge of the conifers, then turned right (the PROW goes left) up a forest track. We found a mountain bike track heading off this track eastwards towards the trig location and followed it. It got to within about 200m of the trig, from which point we just followed the GPS, which managed to get a signal where the conifers were thinnest. The concrete ring is now easy to spot, clear of all vegetation, in a small mossy clearing. Overall a much easier than we'd expected! Thanks for the effort previous baggers have put in to get it exposed.

Still open, very tidy, great find Dusty. From ENE, 4x4 track then W, beware windthrown trees SW of summit. Back via Black Brows, more windthrow on descent, not difficult to avoid

Ring as found still open, easy find.

Was an unusual walk to this one in the forest visited the main Hump/Tump summit first Black Brows, which required a little scramble to the top.The ring is SW of the main summit and took some getting too in the thick woodland. Both of us spent a good half hour fully cleaning out the ring very hard job had to cut many thick bramble roots. Some lettering is still legible great lakes find Dusty!

Very wet mossy outcrop. Kicked moss of some rocks and found two arrows. One a Witness Arrow the other possibly earlier mark looks like a BM Pivot?. Started digging and probing in direction arrow pointed. Ground hard going due to roots. In the end I found the edge of a concrete ring and the Bolt followed soon after. The next visitor should take secateurs to clear properly and allow ring to be fully visible.

Witness Arrow
Other arrow. Looks older? Looks like pivot. See Jonglews picture. Could well be a pivot.

From SD 3677 9266, access track for the Graythwaite 4x4 activity centre - closed today so followed their track. Final section was a push through conifers. Nice rocky top with good covering pine needles in small clearing. Block not found. ***Revisited 4 Dec 2020. All exposed, well done Dusty for finding and painterman for clearing it. Of the 2 arrows, both on the same rock, one looks like either a witness or an old trig (but no old trig shown on old maps); the other looks like the fluted arrow legs of a benchmark (but no benchmark is shown on old maps). Jury's out on these 2.
