Played the game and asked at farm lady came to door and asked how I was even shaking my hand thinking I was a customer after accommodation. Then I asked could I visit the trig she shouted over to her husband who said no in a gruff manner so I left I could just about see it from the road above miserable sod.

Approached from the east via the A496, parked near a converted farm house. Home owner was NOT happy to have us on her land and complained of the amount of people doing so in order to reach the trig. Trig itself was in excellent condition.

Came from due west of the pillar by crossing the runway, with a chest high barbed wire fence to scale either side. Stopped for a quick butty beside the pillar whilst enjoying the view inland to the 589m marilyn Moelfre. I continued on up the track to Ystum-gwern farm and then along the road a little way more to Dyffryn Ardudwy where my day's walking drew to an end.

Asked permission to visit at house at end of public road - no problem and invited to use bike to get there. Track rough but rideable all the way to pillar. Not sure why others have had such difficulty!

Still grim weather down here at the lofty altitude of 6m. The wind wasn't so cold as up at the Harlech TP half an hour ago. Path is muddy and cow patty but nothing as bad as was feared from previous reports. Cycled to this one. There didn't seem to be a problem with access. In answer to MickandShane it isn't the lowest. There are some in Lincolnshire and around the Humber Estuary that are lower. (4m & 5m) in fact the lowest is on the Cambridgeshire/Norfolk boundary at -1m. Visited the trig in Oct 2013. Access is easy unless the landowner spots you and states that she doesn't want anymore people wandering over her land. My suggestion is use the PRoW to the south and approach northwards along the double walled track and fence and chance not being seen - see Greatscandini comment Oct 12 2013

Square pillar of black slate, located behind dunes. Metal plug [raised letters]. Ystum Gwern Farm [B&B]. Private, although step-stile gives access to sheep pasture from public footpath to south, from A496. This path is very boggy west of the railway, so boots & gaiters well advised. Look carefully for trig in flat, featureless landscape. Snowdonia National Park.

Bit of a strange one,odd location not even near the high point in the area.Bit of an experience getting there ,through the garden on a footpath ,avoid the horses ,hoist dog over a stile ,cross railway line ,over another stile then into the bogs that class as as a footpath....the life of a trigpointer is rarely straightforward. After you get past this lot its fairy straightforward ,a couple of walls and a few sheep fields .On the edge of RAE Llanbedr but no sign of activity.Pillar in good condition with views back to edge of Snowdonia.

Took the same route as RW. Nice open pasture once you get through the boggy bit. The footpath goes through someones garden but is waymarked if you keep your eyes open. Very pleasant spot for somewher so low (is this the lowest local stone trig in the UK?) GPS plaques and plug with raised lettering.

A very wet weekend in Wales meant climbing peaks would have been miserable so instead went for a couple of low lying trigs. . This trig point can be accessed by a farm track from Ystum Gwern farm. Best to ask permission at the farm before crossing the railway bridge. The trig point is a real classic, built of slate and in good condition. Bilingual OS signs on the trig request that any damage is reported.
