(1509) Block #4 was another disappointment today. Arrived at the location just as some folks in a 4x4 did. As they was opening the main gate, I explained about the block and asked about whether it would it be possible to visit it. Turned down straight away, and that's the first time that has happened. Bah! A guy across the way asked if I was looking for the PRoW, and I again explained about the block, and how permission hadn't been granted for a visit. "A trig point, eh? Well, come again when no-ones about..." Good advice.

Approached via track from the unsigned gate between two footpath signs. Noone about to ask permission - hope they don't mind a quick visit. Block in good condition. Horses interested in the proceedings.

Technically the block is destroyed but the OS have re-classed it as "Block degraded to Control station" in 08/90. Its still there on a track to a stables so we will log this as good. Rod-type rivet with BM cut into the concrete base. At the edge of the track on the surface. Spoke to a lady from Lincoln who was buying a horse without her husband knowing who directed us to the current horse's owner who said that the area used to be open grassland but the track was installed in the recent past. Given its location in the middle of the track its surprising it survived unscathed.
