Found this very challenging (ok I made a complete cock up of it). Read all the logs and headed for the reservoir gates at the top of Gratton Road – the gate now has barbed wire and is very near to the houses so I took heed of the Private sign – then I looked for the path at the top of Birchgate – having no success there I looked at the top of every street off Brookhouse Lane again without success – I finally went right to the top of the lane and parked above the dog kennels – this was in an attempt to walk back along the paths from the east nearly a mile away. Most of the paths were water logged and I nearly lost my wellies. The trigpoint is in the same field as the path with no wire to negotiate. Just for fun I decided to continue on the path to find out where it came out. No wonder I couldn’t find it – the gate is between Birchgate and Gladwyn Street at the back of the houses (SJ91323 47628) – it comes out onto Eaves lane only about 100 yard from the A52 (see photo). It would be best to park in Gladwyn Street and access the path opposite Dickens Street. Looking at the logs again I see that this is exactly as other had said. Anyway good views from up there – even an aircraft parked at a school below. Didn’t fancy going back through the bogs so I had to walk along the road in wellies and filthy trousers. I was going to do a couple more trigpoints but decided enough was enough.

Took the route as advised by rbarlow but had a problem. Turned into Fourth Avenue (not Durth) but there is a gated property at the end with no public access. Spoke to a friendly local who offered to show me the way. We drove back to the A52, turned right and immediately right again before the traffic lights and took the second left,Cranford Road where you can park.Take the well used path until a stile is reached, turn left and over another one to the trig. No horses today but good views over Stoke. My thanks to my guide without whom I may have still be trying to find it. He didn't even want a lift back home.

Only a couple of miles from my house. The trig is situated in a field of horses near a enclosed resevoir.Took advantage of an England world cup soccer match to minimise chances of anyone being about. If you turn off the A52 down Brookhouse Lane then left into Durth Ave there is a gate leading along a ROW for about 500 yards then turn left over or under a fence into horses field then it is a short walk to the trig.Extensive views over Hanley.

There is a public fottpath that goes up the hill from the south west. On our explorer map it is shown as a black dotted line, not green dots. There is a proper metal kissing gate that gives access to the field from a track at the rear of two rows of houses in the built up area opposite the school. It's a bit of a pull up to the reservoir and was very wet and slippery today. There is a chain link fence blocking access to the trig but this has been broken down as you reach the top of the hill. The trig is just outside the reservoir enclosure. The horses were OK - didn't seem very interested. Plug with uindented lettering.
