Parked a derelict building at bottom of track to reservoir and walked up track to mast. Reservoir is drained at the moment and lots of workmen about. We met the farmer on the way back and had a long chat. He said people off road at the top near the mast hence the churned up ground and hazard tape.

From WSW, parking for a couple of cars at roadside. Dalbeattie Resr almost dry so a direct walk to the top across the resr. Pillar sits at the summit of Barskeoch Hill retaining original top cap, raised lettering; front sight hole open. Misty panorama on a damp afternoon. With Alex C.
