(1672) Colliery closed in 1987. OS components reported destroyed in 1991. Viewed general location from Wheldon Road. Site now run by Infinis, whilst the rest of the area has been landscaped. Two headgears - Wheldale and Sunshine pits, and a memorial plaque located just beyond that.
