Dont like the A423. Too many big lorries. Once off road, the walk up the FP was ok. As field still had corn crop in it, it was quite difficult to find the trig. But at least the crop is planted far enough apart for me to walk up the rows. Took a bit longer then if there was no crop but finally found it in a small opening. Quite badly cracked and leaning at a funny angle. Last of the 12 done today.

Visited this one with Deego. We parked in the lay-by and made the short walk to the trig point by following the tractor tracks through the growing crop. As already mentioned, there are a lot of cracks in this one and it looks like a good clout with a farm implement would reduce it to a pile of rubble. It does have all its metalwork intact, though. It’s not on a really noticeable ‘high point’ so the views aren’t too inspiring, just… well… fields.
