Reached it via the footpath to south of radio mast. Had to negotiate a barbed wire fence (managed to squeeze through) and quick run across very muddy field.

Coming down from Newmarket Hill along the field edge I used the gate into the field by the transmitter it was only a short walk up to pillar, which is in generally good condition with small chips in the render on the top edges. Some reasonable views out to the Channel. A definite post harvest bag.

Convenient car park on Falmer Rd (B2123) to access the HuMP (Newmarket Hill) and this trig. Both hill and trig are in the middle of adjacent large arable fields with sweeping dispositions on the South Downs overlooking Woodingdean, an outlying area of Brighton. Wide vistas here, lovely on a clear day like today. Both fields had been harvested so access was easy over stubble and firm, dry ground. Pillar is in good condition.

Drove to this one after Mount Pleasant, glad we did, it was further than we thought. Dead easy walk from car park past the formention detritus in the lane. You can approch this from two ways, we took the lower path to the left and came at it from the rear as the farmer was plouing the feild below. Trig in good condition, an all in tact.

This was my 700th log so you think i would know by now that if your going to have a quick look at the map and set of for the trig just a couple of hundred metres beyond a mast that you should make sure its the right mast, was only when i was past the mast and going back down hill i realised i may be wrong, looked across and there it was on the next hill, back to the car and set of again with the map,no problems this time bar the barbed wire fence, very good views.
