Agree with the last logger - this location is well worth a visit for the stunning views along the coast (even on a rather overcast afternoon), despite lack of a trig. Field recently planted so viewed from the comms mast. BOAT is driveable in a good 4WD but beware some significant potholes. [FB for logging purposes only].

Easy to locate, but could not find a track to the reservoir across the newly sprouted winter wheat, so settled for a circumnavigation of the field and the fantastic views that went with it. There may no longer be a pillar to visit but the location is still well worth the short climb to get there. Especially on a sunny, warm and relatively clear November day. Grid ref is just a guesstimate.

Long gone. Parked to the east of the cross roads around SY 83625 81630. Then a stroll along track then field to explore summit of West Down and former trig site near covered reservoir with Smudge.

Pair of covered reservoirs in a compound in middle of large field. Drove on BOAT to SY 82869 81579. Then directly across pasture. Pillar would have been at SW corner of southmost reservoir. No remains found.

Walking back from Chaldon Down towards Daggers Gate Burngate reservoir is visible in the distance. It looked like there was some kind of lump on top which could be a trig so we headed for it. Closer inspection revealed this to be some sort of green control panel with a small aerial on top. I walked completely around the twin reservoir compound then hopped the gate and had a look on top. Definitely no trig. I must take better note of other users comments in future (it was a nice walk though)! Excellent views of the Dorset coast. The OS give the FB no as S6078.
