Didn’t hold out much hope for finding this but after consulting pictures it was bagged. Be very careful crossing this busy road! Look out for FB on the pub too! https://www.bench-marks.org.uk/bm1916

E side of A483(T), Wide grass verge for easy parking. Fence has now been partially destroyed so OS sketch of limited use, but 38m from Telegraph Pole was key measurement in finding this block. Left it uncovered.

No chance in summer, even with the OS sketch. Ground was rock hard, so my prodder 'thumped' wherever I prodded it!

Shropshire. Over four years have passed since the last visit but it was thanks to the photo provided by Glaslyn that we found this. It was a few inches down.

Very overgrown so didn't spend too long searching. Will be back with the OS Plan, I think it's needed for this one durring the summer

There is something very satisfying about coming back to a previous failure and succeeding! Following the removal of vegetation by the Council and Pyoung1's visit, and having the OS sketch this wasn't too difficult a find. I have cleared away all vegetation with the trusty trowal so if you want to find it easily - go soon!

No its no better in winter just wet dead grass rather than wet live grass covered the ground but didn't have the gloces etc with me to find it.

In spite of the photo and plan, this proved impossible as the nettles by the fence were at least 4 feet high and surpassed only by the height of the brambles. This one is very definitely a wintertime treat. Not even a whiff of it.
