Very busy road to west. Possible to park part way up track on verge near gate in DRY weather (SX189597) OR drive thru' two gates (nether locked at time of my visit) to mast

Didn't park @ mikandshane's T junction just approached from the NW (SX 186 596) and drove up the track that BT had thoughtfully metalled. Someone must expalin to me about water tables sometime, how can there be a pond on the top of a hill?

We approached from the south via an indistinct bridle path through sheepy fields. It is possible to park one car at the T junction. Three teal took off from the pond as we apprached (at least I think they were teal as they were much smaller than mallard}. Plug missing.

I took in this and Penhale on a circular bike ride from Looe. I was relieved to find the metalled track to the BT station on top of the Down because the bridlepaths were indistinct and badly signed. The view of the pool next to the TP is pleasant if you sit with your back to the radio mast

Pillar with remnants of white paint on small earth bank dwarfed by communications mast. Approached via small road with earthwork on the right from B3359.
