Easy bag, walked through tractor lines in field of crops. Footpath & track shown on map but not obvious so that was going to be our defence if questioned! Easy access via path or wood. No real fencing in sight. Nice walk through the forest too.

Parked in Whiteways are park (just off roundabout of A29/A284) , north on bridleway then picked up the South Downs way. Trig in on a field boundary.

From the A29, the South Downs Way leads through a couple of large fields before a junction after the second hedge leads up to the summit, where the pillar can be found in one of the many gaps in the hedge. There are expansive views across the cabbage fields in most directions; the twin masts on Bignor Hill are easily visible from here... which would be my next and last stop on a productive day's bagging.

Number 50 of December trig challenge. Walk from Whiteways north then westwards partly along South Downs Way but then across a ploughed field to a field boundary to find the trig point. Good views all round.

Another one of those quite unremarkable trig in a field boundary locations, but the scenery round here is so lovely it just doesn't matter :).

Parked at the NT CP at Bignor Hill (SU973130) headed E following the South Downs Way. Trig exposed and easily found just of the SDW footpath (200m NW) in the field boundry (hedge), but the beginnings of a chicken wire fence looks as though the trig might be enclosed before too long.

Simple to get to walking up the South Downs Way from the A29 then cutting up the fence line to the Trig. The views to the around are great (as long as you move so the hedge doesn't obscure!) Me 178m

Easy find for this, used the ordinance survey map at Whitways cafe to pinpoint exactly, a good brisk walk there and back won't take long.

I missed this on the way down the hill (going too fast on my bike :-) and it was almost missed on the way back up when I realised it wasn't going to be an easy bag. This is a tough hill to ride up. Views would be good, but it was very hazy today.

Parked in Whiteways car park (alongside TP0655) and enjoyed a walk of just over a mile to the trigpoint. The pillar is located in a hedgerow about 200 yards north-east of the South Downs Way. The pillar should be approached on the left-hand (north-west) side of the hedgerow. The rather overcast and misty weather spoilt what should have been excellent views.

I had a bit of trouble finding this one to start with.It was not were I thought I had seen it sometime in the distant past.So a random search around the high ground was needed.Glad I did though.Good condition with fantastic views over to Rackham hill and beyond.
