Stage 2 of the North-South attempt on the SW Coast Path, but Stage 4 overall, having also started from the southern end. This trig was a welcome blessing at the end of a long day in the trees, a little plagued by flies, some rain, and ripping my shots taking a big step down (there are a few big steps on this section!). Really enjoyed this long walk from Porlock Weir though and the gentle descent into Lynmouth was less painful on sore old knees than I expected. Caught a lovely old bus (No 300) back from Lynmouth to Porlock - slowest public transport I've ever been on. Our journey down Porlock Hill was made in 1st gear - Oh the tailback!

Having eyed the lighthouse from above (NT should give better access?) it's up to the enigmatic little hill building and mast and there looms an unexpected trig (no OS for this area on me), lovely surprise as grey and purple splash on the Welsh horizon and Exmoor holds a long dark line. Ponies nuzzling nearby.
