Couldn't find the way into Golf Course car park so parked near the café in the park a wee bit further away. From there it was past lots of dog walkers and up the greasy bank from the club house. A few golfers around today but managed to slip past between players. Decent views from the top.

Parked in golf club then walked up the edge of course uphill to the trig. Good views of the golf course. Then back down and I to bell field park as it is a Pokemon charamander spawning ground. Result. Cheers.

Found a hole in the fence to the north west for a short cut across the golf course. No golfers around, until I reached the trig... Typical!

Log #326. Hole in fence to north appears to have been fixed, so accessed via SW corner of the golf course. Didn't see anyone till almost at the trig, but the ball-whackers were happy for me to pop up to the pillar. I expected a bit more from the fabled 'Ned Shed'. Aside from some damage to the top corner, the pillar is in fairly good condition. [ExP-234/MiP-28/Rev-2/BM-21/IS-31/Other-10]

Revisit. Was out bagging benchmarks in the area and took a shortcut across the golf course via the trig. Previous visit was in zero visibility so today was a remarkably pleasant surprise. Superb views across Glasgow and Paisley. Deep views in all directions with lots of other pillar sites visible. Unfortunately, the top screed has now broken with a good chunk missing and a spider arm exposed. Graffiti pretty much non-existent now.

Tracked this mother with my trusty TP UK radar. Trig has seen better days, top has been repaired at some point in the past. Spider plug well gone. Excellent views to the north, east and south west.

Second visit. For GPS reading and photos. Parked on public road at NS499644, east end of Balgair Drive. Entrance to golf course is opposite the end of Balgair Drive, then exact route depends on what golfing activies are in process. Conical peak on highest ground within municipal golf course. Column in fair condition, top repaired but separating again. Spider centre open, golf ball dropped down blocked centre pipe. Flush bracket faces 129° (SE). Vented through sight hole on NE face. 315° panoramic view, NW eighth obstructed by young conifers. Revisited and photographed in darkness 19/11/2011, GRP.

Reasonably good condition pillar at the edge of a green on a golf course. On a little hummock on the hill top which is quite pleasant to look at. Unbelievably bad visibility, but can imagine the views being quite nice. Seemed surprisingly high for the area. Top of pillar looks repaired and now recracking. Otherwise, in decent enough shape. Top hole and north sighthole open. FB facing east(-ish). Spider in good nick. Bit of worn graffiti. There's a phenomenal urban ned shed about 100' away with some spectacularly scary graffiti on it.

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was built in January 1946 costing £7.0s.6d. Later in 1946 this marker was computed for triangulation at secondary station NS77/15 in the Glasgow block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1968. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in October 1971. Spider was still complete in 1990. BsM Flush Bracket. Expect dirty looks from golfers. Municipal course.
