Revisit today, after visiting parents grave in Trealaw, nearly to the year, with CLJ, walked up super view of the castle again from the top, Trig in same condition. Stopped for my coffee and had a Mixed Grill and chips for lunch too at the busy Café on the way down! 11/11/21 First visit Simple walk up from cafe/parking, follow path up.. trig clearly visible on next little hill to the right 10 mins. Super view from up here again. Will come back here for a coffee in the future. Nice spot. Flush Bracket, Spider in place, cap filled.

Visited on the last stage of my Cardiff Castle to Caerphilly Castle walk (19 miles mostly using Taff Trail). Past the bolt on Craig Yr Allt en-route. Wasn't a particularly clear day, but it was possible to pick out the castle, largest in Wales, in the town below. It is worth paying your respects at the Canadian Pilots Memorial on the lower Eastern side of the mountain. A Nearby plaque is damaged but still readable (helps if you're bi-lingual) Nice walk down into city, I recommend you walk around the castle, outside and in.

A three and a half circular walk from home. You can of course just take your car to the parking by the snack bar and toddle up. In the past I have got both my mother up here aged 80 and my mother-in-law aged 86 so nice and easy. Fine views from the top.

from car park to SE, very popular with public. Bright and breezy, Ex 360 views of hills along S edge of Welsh valleys and S to coast with Flat and Steep Holmes in a shimmering sea. Might not look so good in more typical Welsh weather.

Easy parking at the mountain cafe. Lovely sunny day meant great views. Only a few minutes easy walk from the cafe, just cross the road and head for the high ground to see it. Busy with dog walkers, lovers, skivers etc. Could only tig the pillar as I didn't want to disturb the lady sat on the exposed base who seemed to be doing a sketch. Condition appeared good at quick glance, and I did make a couple of taps as I walked past on the path. Biblical inscription on nearby stone. Great view of castle and estuary and much more. First Welsh trig bagged.

Good parking at the cafe on the A469 with just a short walk on even grassy paths to the summit of this HuMP. A popular area for dogs and for their human walkers who meet here to chat. This was an easy bag, with some excellent 360deg views. The trig is generally in good condition; sight holes are all open; cap has been replaced with a tarmac plug; the concrete plinth is exposed.

Parked at the nice mountain cafe. Easy walk over the Common on a hot sunny day. Stunning views in all directions, a lovely spot. Could see my cousins farm on mynydd machen. Near the trig is stone pillar with welsh biblical inscription. Had visited the fantastic castle earlier in the day.

The pillar stands on the rough grassy summit of hill to the south of Caerphilly. Easy parking and tasty snacks are available from the nearby car park at the junction of the A469 Watford Road and the B4600. It has an asphalt plug and FB S2289. The site has an impressive view over Caerphilly, its castle and the neighbouring valleys. Distant hills could be seen to the north. The Bristol Channel and the hills of Somerset are to the south.

Parked at the car-park to the south east and enjoy ed a really blustery stroll to the trig. Wonderfully dark, threatening skysaround limiting the views or the surrounding hills. Came here after a lovely visit to the Castle, and afterwards had a great cuppa at the log-cabin refreshment booth at the car-park. 271m Me, Liz

Good views over Caerphilly and the surrounding countryside - north to the Brecon Beacons and south (as in the image of the trig point) across the Bristol Channel. Fortunately, someone has taken steps to try to stop the erosion around the pillar.
