HISTORY: Pillar completed 5th July 1958 costing 34.7s.3d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NM52/T11 during 1960. Levelled for height to Class 2 precision also in 1960. Last maintained by the OS in September 1980. SITE VISIT: Overall approach from southeast. Parked by midden, north side of road at NM356538 as advised, had asked shepherd who said that farmer didn't like people parking by turning circle. Followed mapped track to its end that followed boundery wall to ridge / third gate, and beeline route keeping high thereafter. Open grazing land. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces southeast, compass measurement 138. All four sight holes open, pillar bolt can be observed. Coastal view includes Coll, Muck Eigg, Ardnamurchan.

Bagged on circular walk from Calgary Bay. Great scenery and some views of nearby islands. Grass creeping over base below flush bracket.

Cracking location on far NW corner of Mull. VEry wet and blustery but good views of Tiree and Treshnish Isles. Coll mainly elusive in the mist.

Easy walk on close cropped grass from the road end. The road was in very poor condition. Views to Coll, Iona and the Treshnish Islands.

Argyllshire. It is a twenty minutes each way pleasant stroll from the end of the road. There were views to the Treshnish Isles, Coll, Rum, Eigg, Muck and the Ardnamurchan peninsula. Plug missing.
