Parking to the NW then along obvious paths (not the steep one :):) Past Flounders' Folly and along to Pillar, located just over barbed wire fence (easy to hop over) great location and views to the Clee Hills. Pillar a little short. back down the steep path.

Parked at the end of the bridleway to the northwest and took the steep, direct route to the pillar. Good views east but limited due to trees to the west. Took the longer and less severe route back to the north.

Approached from northwest. Parking for a few cars in woodland entrance at SO457853. Steep but direct ascent as mapped leads to tower then along to trig. Pillar stands field side of boundary line, small logs piled to allow safe fence crossing. Column in good condition. Spider has a grey plastic disc fitted by Jon Rouse, 1/08/2004. Flush bracket faces southeast, compass measurement 136. All sight holes buried. 180 panoramic view spans from sourthwest through northwest to northeast, remainder lost to adjacent woodland.

Stunning views of most of Shropshire. The pillar appears to be shrinking into the ground. The dense hedge between the pillar and the footpath has now been cut and replanted.

120m SW of Flounders Folly, in field E side of fence (with helpful logs to aid step over the barbed wire.) Lots of wild flowers, good views to 'the Clees' Soil up to bottom of FB so pillar looks a little short.

Short but steep ascent from minor road to NW. Trig (SE side field boundary) on edge of arable field with ripening pototo crop. Deep field furrows causing pillar to have become partially buried to halfway up FB - seems to be a theme with this one. Fortunately had a garden spade with us so dug down to reveal FB. Pillar in good condition; cap missing, composite plug; front and side sight holes closed, rear undetermined; vestige of white paint job remain. Flounders' Folly and marilyn summit located approx 100m NE. Extensive 270deg views E through N; NE obscured by hill summit and folly.

Reason ploughing has blocked up the flush bracket and ground frozen hard to clear it. Walked from Craven Arms via Strefford, Moorwood to reach Callow Hill and returned via Norton Camp and stokesay castle. Bitterly cold day with snow showers.

First logged trig point. Come across so many of these while geocaching. Walked up hill, collected local cache photoed trig and then waited for folly to open. Had a great chat with one of the trustees.

Can not give it a very high score as visibility was so poor up here today which was a shame. I had to dig out the flush bracket which has been burried due to over zelous ploughing. The path down was tretcharous, sheet ice.

Parked at the bottom of the woods and followed the paths up to the top of the ridge. FB plate faces into field and had been more or less buried by new ploughing so had to be dug out. Retains patches of white paint. Nice location by the restored tower.

Came up while in the area to activate the hill for SOTA (Summits on the Air - Amateur Radio). Nice views but very windy today. Climbed up the steep way, down the easier route. Could not access the trig as it was inside the field... flush bracket was not visible

Nice spot, the nearby folly is worth seeing. As ever, the trig is inside the field boundary, with the flush bracket pointing away.

The direct path from the north (good parking) has a sign board with two routes one marked gentle and the other steep. After the last few days rain they should have added slippery and tretcherous to steep. Wothwhile views all round from the top but the gentle route would ahve suited my 3 year old daughter and my ankles rehab far better.

Yes, quite a scramble up but OK in dry conditions. A clear day for views, would have been even better if the tower had been open. And I discovered afterwards that Callow Hill is a Marilyn.

Hazy day; limited views of Corvedale and Clee Hills. FB was buried in soft soil. The top of the tower fell off a few years ago; good to see repairs underway. Getting building materials up here is non-trivial!

The steepest slipperiest footpath going.. Best not to go directly up the hill. but watchout fro brambles. For many miles from Wellington to the Radnor Forest runs a double edged ridge of limestone. Plenty of good hills along the way, this being one of the highest.
