Visit by Debs. As per previous visit, just a couple 100m up on track. Lovely peaceful location. Pillar is definitely growing into surroundings. Flush bracket quite hard to read.

Parked at forestry access road West of pillar. Two minutes walk. Pillar in rough grassy area. Dead easy.

Parked as others, start of forest track. Pillar in general good nick, slight chunk missing end of spider, OS cap in place, one sight hole open. Slight dusting of snow on a bitterly cold afternoon.

Easy walk up the forest track from beside the fortified compound. Wished the weather had been better to visit the nearby fortlet.

Can be seen from the road. Parked at the forestry gate next to the black telephone box and numerous security cameras and a short walk up to the pillar. Moss covered but in good condition with limited views

Good condition pillar standing near a well-preserved Roman fortlet. FB faces east-ish with no obvious open sightholes. Cap present with raised lettering. Easy access from the mapped forest track with good parking about 200m to the south on the northbound side of the road. Views a bit hemmed in by the surround forests.

Indented Cap with only the South sight open on the mossy lower Pillar. Wee chips appearing on the SW corner and Eastern Spider leg. Whitewash pretty faded and an open view across to the old Fort.

Pillar in very good condition. Spider retains OS cap with shallow engraved font. Back sight hole open, others plugged. FB faces NE ~33°. Tertiary station in Block NT18, Dunfermline. Completed 26th August 1939. Parking off road to NE side at NT047594. Any views lost to surrounding trees. Photographed 8/08/2007, GRP.

1/7/04 Visible from road.. there is a quick way in via the mobile phone mast. Somebody had recntly demossed some of it. Good condition and intact. Earthwork nearby is a Roman fort. Grey partridge flew off from near the trig. Somebody banging away with guns nearby, lucky they are out of season. Last visit 10/12/2005. There is now a new forest road, just built, that passes by the pillar. Pillar still intact.

Visible from the roadside (B7008) in a clear area surrounded by coniferous forest. Approach is straightforward from the road, although the ground is a little boggy in places. Pillar in good condition, with the original spider cap still in place. Very slight damage to the top.

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 26th August 1939 costing 5.2s.6d. In 1946 this marker was computed for triangulation as tertiary station NT18/T5 in the Dunfermline Secondary Block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1964. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in May 1970.
