First I climbed Garreg Lwyd (616m) and trigpoint, the onto Foel Fraith (602m). From there I took a detour to Carn Fadog (512m) and also over to the two Twrch caches on the disused tramway and incline, which was interesting. Then it was across to the SAS cache, and then onto the highest and most outlying summit for today, Garreg Las (635m) and then onto the Careg Yr Ogof trigpoint and summit which lies beyond, a beautiful spot. Time was getting on but I managed to include Cefn y Cylchau (556m) on the way back and a fairly direct route back to Herberts Quarry allowed me to finish in daylight. I really liked the views from this trigpoint on its limestone edge, a really scenic spot well worth the hike out here to see. My favourite place of the day.

Parked at the Llyn Y Fan Fach car park and walked up to the lake (longer but great scenery), over to the right and across to the wonderful looking rocky outcrop that you get up here. Track to follow a little wet in parts but easy to cross. Trig in good condition sitting at the end of a rocky outcrop, Spider and flush bracket in place but top cap plug missing.

Cap missing, no plug; 1 sight hole open. OS database refers to a previous pillar here with this one replacing it in 1956, but no mention of it on T:UK?!?

Parking was fun "no parking" signs proliferate at the bridleway departure at Gelligron and having nearly got stuck on my next attempt I eventually went half a mile back and parked by the last bridge. The walk in is then a moderate ascent on relatively dry ground. Trig in good shape with lots of paint and no long term issues
