Pulled up at T junction expecting a reasonably straightforward roadside pillar find. Tried the hedge lines to north and west from the road side then from each field side. Then looked on south east side of junction from road and could just see the base of the pillar through a small hole in the vegetation. Moved to hedge to duck through and banged my head on a low solid tree branch. Ouch! Tree right next to pillar well established. Would need a chainsaw to clear away bushes. Spider and plastic cap in place. FB faces east so awkward to get picture. Only south face exposed. Lost a mark for having a bump on the head.

(2628) Parked car on grass triangle at the junction. Thankfully there's a gap in the hedge right where the pillar is located. A proper hands and knees job though, and no real room once inside either. Hedge has been flailed so pillar was covered in debris, but eventually all the relevant parts was seen. Replacement centre cap aside all is in good condition. Pillar history: Built on the 14th of February 1952, at a cost of £14 18s 6d. Last maintained by the OS in September of 1984

Easy to miss from the road as the pillar is esconsed flush against the hedge on the field side. However there's several gaps in the hedge to nip through. Replacement cap. name is very accurate; it's near East Carlton, and very firmly in a corner.

Surprising difficult to see, hidden in the hedge at the road junction. Easier access from the field (gaps in hedge to east) to the trig which is in the grip of some ivy.

Parked very close on muddy triangle of grass at the junction and duck-walked through a very low hedge gap right next to the pillar which was visible from the road . Pillar is tight up against the hedge but in decent condition . Awkward to see the flush bracket as it faces the hedge, a muddy grovel was needed to get the camera at the right angle to photograph it. GPS reading N52 28.969 W000 46.467 Uninspiring view on a gloomy winter afternoon ! Edited as I got the FB number wrong : well my photo is not very distinct ,'6' looked like an '8' !

The last of eight logs for the day, going to and from the get-together at Cold Ashby, and the fifth pillar today visited by others with the same idea. Like wrose, I wondered how I was going to get through the hedge, but I found a gap a little way up the lane to the north-east.

Easy trig hidden in corner of field behind the hedge at the road junction. Pillar covered in Ivy, and i had to climb through hedge to find bracket no. as it points away from road. Very friendly landowner was on a shoot at the time and helped me into field! Surprised this one wasn't bagged before!
