Had to visit Inverness for Mr TJR to get his bike serviced, so decided to bag this trig. Took the very boggy track from Lady Cairn most of the way up. Mrs TJR took a more direct route up for the last 300m and Mr TJR carried on the track. Fantastic 360 degree views from the top. Took Mrs TJR an age up and down due to being a very tired trig bagging Ted from the previous two weekends escapades. Charlie got totally covered in mud at some points, so be prepared!

Set off this morning for this one with the intention of grabbing the trig. Got parked up at just after 10am and walked back along the road to get to the start of the boggy track. I was prepared for the bog and it wasn't too bad actually but it hasn't been too rainy of late which probably helps and there is no snow melt left anymore to add to it either. The stream was just a wee trickle so was just a matter of avoiding the puddles and the soft boggy bits of ground. I did manage t to sink down to the top of my boots once or twice though but didn't seem to get wet socks so can't complain! The path is actually quite a good one if you ignore the boggy bits. It's a gentle gradient all the way so didn't once run out of puff and with the sun on my face it was a pleasant walk all the way up. The OS map on my GPS suggested that the final pathless trek through the heather would be a bit less steep if I walked slightly east of the trig and then cut back through the heather. Gave it a go and it was very steep initally but once over that initial bit it was an easy walk across the heather and I could soon spot the trig getting larger and larger. Unfortunately I managed to time my visit to the trig perfectly to catch a passing rain shower so got a little cold and wet at the trig and the views weren't quite as good as they could have been! Still there is some cracking views from this one and almost a 360 degree panorama. Trig is in good condition overall and the center plug is still there.

Took the same route as others. The wee boggy stream track to within 350m then followed a deer track uphill close to the trig. Very difficult to get a photo as wind was fierce at the top. Just took the most direct route back to the track.

Log #91. Followed Graeme's route - parked at Ladycairn following the incredibly boggy track to approx. NH 565 377, then up the hillside and followed the old fence to the pillar. Pillar is on a rocky mound, and is in good condition, including indented cap. As I said, track is *very* boggy, so waterproof boots are essential. Great views in all directions, including a glimpse of Loch Ness. Was very windy at the summit, with gusts threatening to whisk me away back to Inverness. [ExP-85/MiP-0/BM-6]

Quite cloudy at the summit, also ceramic tablet by Trig now gone/stolen/washed away or something. Trig itself still in good condition and still retains plug....but for how long??
